Lightning Rod.

A few months ago, Pastor Mike Connell (if I'm not wrong) was preaching about finding a lightning rod in our life.

What exactly is lightning rod in our life?
Well, lightning rod basically act the function like those lightning rod you see on the top of every HDB building, to prevent any lightning from hitting the building. So basically, it's sort of preventing the damage of the building.

When we applied it to ourselves, we are in the form of "building" in that scenario. Lightning referring any storms we faced in our life. So what then is lightning rod? Lightning rod just someone around our life. Someone whom you trust he/she is able to confide in, able to rest on, able to rely on. AND that's is really very important in our life.

Let's see in this scenario:
If one day you feel so left out inside a clique. That point of time, you should be starting to feel like as if you are out-casted because of something regarding you. Then the devil start to attack you even more by casting more negative thoughts into your brain.
"AHHH, must be because i didn't say things in that way, that why.." or maybe "i must start to say this and that so that i can be inside the clique again."
Then all kinds of impossible answer became possible through the assistance of the devil. Then your self-esteem is damaged, your confidence is lowered, your mood became moody etc.. You became another person. And you wanted to find someone to talk about it but you found no one. There's no lightning rod is your life. There's no one you can rely on. You are just alone, facing the stormy weather alone.
After awhile, you thought that such thing is common in our life. We could just let it past and looking forward to the next day. And so, time passed and true enough you managed to forget about the unhappiness, the unbearable moment of out-casted. You are happy about it. You managed to SKIP all those unhappiness.
Then one fine day, things happened again. This time you are super down. Because of previous incident + this incident, you kind of confirm that you are in fault. From then on, you changed. The impact is in your heart, and you never get to share it out because you thought you are REALLY GOOD at handling such stuff because it happened so many times in your life. You really thinks that you are like God, but thats wrong my friend.
Even Jesus, whom is the Son of God shared his problem around. Share his unhappiness. What moreover is us.

My advise to those people who are not does not have any lightning rod. Start finding 1 now. It's not neccessary must be the same old people always. Not every lightning rod that you find can conduct the same lightning voltage. Everyone in this world definitely needs 1.

For me, my lightning rod is none other than Him, Jesus. What about yours?
